CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Wednesday night, a semi fire on I-70 lead to the westbound lane on ramp to be closed for an extended amount of time. The fire happened on the I-70 Brazil exit near Prairie City.
According to Indiana State Police Seargent Matt Ames, the driver noticed smoke coming from inside the vehicle. Ames said, the driver then pulled off the road and disconnected the trailer from the vehicle, saving what was inside the trailer.
The ramp was closed for 40 minutes and reopened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
