TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A shooting suspect was arrested by Terre Haute police after his alleged victim crashed his vehicle fleeing the area early Sunday morning.
Terre Haute police responded to the south parking lot of Candlewood Suites around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired.
The alleged victim of the incident said he fled the area after shots were fired at his truck. He ultimately crashed his truck into another vehicle at 9th and Ohio, causing his truck to flip. Both the victim and the other driver were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries.

Officers located the suspect in the shooting, identified as Chance Kernstein, and attempted to stop his vehicle. Kernstein refused to stop and led police on a pursuit that ended in Lewis, Ind.
Kernstein was taken into custody and charged with criminal recklessness, false reporting, resisting law enforcement, intimidation, pointing a firearm, reckless driving, possession of methamphemine and violating a home detention order.
