TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local business showed its support to the family of a former Terre Haute policeman Friday by giving a check to family members of the man who was shot and killed in July.
Embroidery Express, a Terre Haute-based embroidering and screen printing company, presented a check to the family of Detective Greg Ferency on Friday. In order to raise the funds for the family, business owner Mary Duncan said she sold t-shirts.
The business ended up making and selling over 900 shirts in total to help support Ferency’s family.
Ferency was killed last July during what authorities have called an “ambush” outside the FBI Indianapolis Resident Agency in Terre Haute.
“There’s been a huge outpouring in the community to purchase the shirts,” Duncan said. “It’s a great feeling to be able to help them and my employees feel the same way we’re just so happy.”
