SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Work is underway in the city of Sullivan to make a transition from the old City Hall to a new City Hall building located at 110 North Main Street.
City of Sullivan Public Works Director JD Wilson says that the old building used to be a grocery store that was then converted into the City Hall more than 40 years ago.
He said the city acquired the new building, worked on some remodeling to prepare it for what the city officials needed, and now, employees have begun to move items into the new facility.
He says the new building will be a vast improvement.
“The city has needed this building, the local government here, the offices here, it will provide them a workspace, an adequate space, instead of being cramped up, cooped up, in the old building,” Wilson said. “We’re excited to be here at this new building.”
Wilson added that City Hall will be open for normal business by Monday.
