BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Residents and visitors will get to enjoy a fun, new addition to Forest Park in Brazil.
According to the President of the Brazil Parks Board, Janet McClellan, construction of a new splash pad is getting underway and will be built next to the pool, where the basketball court is currently located. The city plans to demolish the court soon, but a new court will be built.
McClellan said the splash pad is expected to be one of the larger ones in the area.
“The benefits are, number one, it’s free. So anybody can go and use it. It’s going to be free to all of the community. So that’s the major plus and it runs longer than the pool is open,” McClellan said.
The construction of the splash pad is expected to cost $658,000 dollars. The city received a grant to help pay for the project.
