Vigo County’s 911 dispatch center was without power as of just before noon Saturday, prompting county leadership to urge residents to only call 911 in a “life or death emergency.”
Vigo County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard notified WTWO/WAWV on Saturday morning that the county’s dispatch center was “completely dark” and had no “phones, radios or Internet.” He said calls are being rolled over to surrounding counties.
He said the backup dispatch center was also down.
