TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After announcing multiple park closures due to damage after last week’s storms, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department announced that Deming Park will reopen on Friday, July 7.
According to a press release from Kilie Smith, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department Director of Recreation, all of Deming will be open including the Deming Park Pool, concessions, and the recreation programs will resume with regular operations starting on Friday.
The release also notes that some of the shelters at Deming do not have power or may be closed for repairs. Other parks that are currently open include Fairbanks Park, Maple Avenue Park, and Rea Park but all other parks will remain temporarily closed due to storm damage until further notice.
Residents are asked to proceed with caution around city parks as crews work to clean up and make repairs. For further information, contact the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Main Office at 812-232-2727.
