VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man who police say shot two juveniles during a March drug deal gone wrong appeared in Vigo County Court Thursday.
Christopher M. Compton faces two counts of attempted murder, as well as armed robbery and aggravated battery among a total of 7 felony charges.
In a probable cause affidavit filed with the Vigo County Court, police said one juvenile was left with two gunshot wounds to the abdomen, while another was grazed in the head by a bullet after Christopher M. Compton allegedly robbed them at gunpoint following what the juveniles thought was a meeting to purchase marijuana on March 10 in Brookside Estates in southern Vigo County.
Thursday in Vigo County Superior Court 3, Compton appeared in person before Judge Sarah Mullican for a status hearing.
The judge kept Compton’s bond set at $50,000, with 10% not permitted, and no professional bond allowed. During the hearing Compton’s future pretrial conference date was confirmed for August 17 at 10 a.m., with a jury trial scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19.
