TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A student-led club at Indiana State University is being recognized nationally for their “groovy” fundraising program.
The Indiana State University’s Dance Marathon Club received a Miracle Maker Award from the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The group received the award for its efforts in raising $114,032.80 for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
The Miracle Maker Awards go to the Dance Marathon programs that had the highest combined monetary and percentage increases in their overall fundraising over the previous year. These programs demonstrate it is possible to continue to build a lasting tradition on campus and grow fundraising year-after-year for local CMN Hospitals.

According to ISU officials, the program is the largest student-led organization on campus. The 12-hour event was hosted in April at the Student Recreation Center and in addition to dancing, featured games, food and other fundraising opportunities. A number of Riley Hospital families also spoke about the impact the hospital had on them.
April’s fundraising total was the result of the efforts of 191 ISU students, with nine of them raising at least $1,000 individually.
The club was recognized by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on Sunday.
