TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Dozens of local non-profits received grants on Wednesday thanks to the generosity of four Terre Haute citizens who established trusts.
First Financial Bank distributed funds to 52 non-profit organizations. The bank awarded a total of $116,000 in which the contributions come from trusts established by Oscar Baur, Frederick Benson, Mary Smith Young, and Sheldon Swope.
Carol Myers is the Vice President and Senior Trust Officer of First Financial Bank. Myers said it’s amazing how many people these trusts have helped over the years.
“They established these trusts to help preserve and help the people of the Wabash Valley and particularly Vigo County,” says Myers. “The poor, the disadvantaged, basically any charitable organization.”
