LYFORD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man had to be cut free from a crashed vehicle by first responders and now could face possible misdemeanor charges.
That’s according to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, who said the incident occurred on March 29 on U.S. 41 near 4th Street in Lyford.
Frazier said a vehicle had been headed northbound when for an unknown reason it left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, 58-year-old Kavin A. Compton of Terre Haute was found trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters.
Compton was then taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
Sheriff Frazier said Compton’s driving privileges had been suspended at this time for allegedly driving with a suspended license, and added that his office has sent information regarding possible misdemeanor charges to the prosecutor for review.
