TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun visited VIP Kinder College East on Tuesday in Terre Haute to celebrate Week of the Young Child for 2024.
The mayor’s proclamation marks a week dedicated to honoring youth and fun, with each day bringing new opportunities, for learning and enjoyment.
During the visit, the mayor engaged with students, read to them, and shared cookies, as they celebrated together. Mayor Sakbun said early childhood education is a worthy investment for years to come.
“Education is incredibly important because we are preparing the next generation of Hoosiers to not just enter the workforce, but to live a fulfilling life and enjoy our city, enjoy our state, so its important we invest in kids in our community,” Sakbun said.
The Week of the Young Child continues with “Work Together Wednesday,” “Artsy Thursday,” and “Family Event Friday,” featuring a tour of the school’s very own art show that will be open to VIP Kinder College families.
