WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man was arrested for multiple drug charges after calling the police to his residence to investigate a possible break-in.
According to the Washington Police Department, local law enforcement responded to a report of a break-in on Tuesday in the area of E. Flora Street.
Upon arriving, WPD officers along with the help of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office found no evidence of a break-in but did see items that were related to drug use.
“With assistance from the Daviess County Sheriff`s Office, Officers conducted a safety sweep of the residence but were unable to locate anyone,” the WPD said. “However, Officers reported observing items related to illegal drug use in plain view.”
Officers then received a search warrant for the residence and discovered multiple narcotics-related items including 6.7 grams of methamphetamine, suspected heroin, syringes, other paraphernalia, and multiple firearms.
Jeromy Brower, 37, was arrested on the following charges:
- Dealing Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Narcotic Drug
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance
- Possession of Syringe
- Possession of Paraphernalia
WPD noted that the original complaint of a break-in is still under investigation.
