TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local church is offering a new resource that will help people who don’t have access to showers.
The Bridge Church in Terre Haute recently installed a shower house next to its building. It was donated by Simple Church in White House, Tennessee. The shower house is to help people who are homeless or don’t have running water in their home. If someone needs to use the shower house, they can just call the number on its door or knock on the church’s door if people are there at the time.
“To have a place where people can come and it can be their home for even if it’s just for a moment,” Senior Pastor Billy Joe Henry of the Bridge Church said. “It’s a place where they can come and get cleaned up. It helps them to bring back to reality of who they really are. They are a child of God,” Senior Pastor Billy Joe Henry of the Bridge Church.
The church is located at 1901 8 Avenue in Terre Haute. Henry says they also serve community dinners on Tuesday and Friday nights. The church’s phone number is (812) 917-4054.
