TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Council of Domestic Abuse has reached the halfway mark in its fundraising project.
The Wabash Valley Community Foundation is doing a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge grant for CODA. If CODA raises $40,0000, it will receive another $40,000 from the community foundation.
The money will be used to renovate a building across the street from CODA’s shelter that will house a thrift store, a recreation area and a space for meetings.
CODA Wabash Valley’s Executive Director Emily Murray said they can’t thank the Wabash Valley Community Foundation enough for its constant support.
“The community foundation has been so supportive of CODA,” said Murray. “Back in 2019 when we were about to close our doors, the community foundation issued a similar type of grant. It shows us that they really care about our mission and that it is important to them and to the community.”
