TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Chipotle will soon call Terre Haute home as construction begins on two new strip plazas on the city’s East side.
Jason Holler, Lead Building Inspector with the City of Terre Haute confirmed Thursday that the plazas are being built on property between Interstate 70 and Walmart.
Holler stated that one of the plazas will offer four commercial spaces for tenants and the second plaza will have five units.
Terre Haute Mayor, Brandon Sakbun took to social media with his excitement stating that “Chipotle is coming to town!” The mayor went on to say that the new construction has begun on State Road 46.
The Indiana State Men’s Basketball managers also took to X in their support of the city’s ‘high-level recruit,’ Chipotle.
Holler confirmed the property is owned by Gibson Development.
WTWO reached out to the company and will update this story as more information becomes available.
