TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The roads at Hawthorn Park are getting some improvements.
Over the past two days, crews have been doing a micro-seal project on all of the roads at the park. They have also put an emphasis on widening some of the roadways along with putting on additional shoulders in certain areas.
The Superintendent of Vigo County Parks Adam Grossman explained how this project will make the roadways last longer.
“Instead of going through and doing a paving project that would be much more costly, we can do this micro-seal, and it will buy us another 10 to 15 years,” said Grossman. “We did the same thing at Fowler Park and those roadways are still in pretty good shape.”
Grossman said these roads will be open to the public on Saturday.
