VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Salvation Army has kicked off their annual Red Kettle Campaign.
Volunteer bell ringers will be out across various stores in Vigo County to bring attention to the campaign. In total there will be 12 locations across the county, and Vigo Co. Salvation Army Core Officer Jeremy Fingar says the money raised from the Red Kettle Campaign represents 80 percent of their annual budget.
“It is the majority of the money that we pour back into our community, through rent and utility assistance, food and hygiene assistance, school supplies, Christmas presents and toys to the needy families,” Fingar said. “It is directly responsible for our ability to support our community.”
Fingar says the campaign will last for 44 days throughout the holiday season. For more information, click here.
