TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local agency is showing its appreciation to a group of volunteers making a difference in children’s lives.
The Western Indiana Community Action Agency put together Thanksgiving meal baskets for the volunteers in its Foster Grandparent Program.
The baskets, made possible thanks to the community’s generosity, include everything needed to make a Thanksgiving meal.
Donna Fullhart is the Director of Senior Programs at the Western Indiana Community Action Agency. She said this is a way to give back to the seniors who volunteer in the program.
“Our grandparents are giving to our community everyday, all year. They volunteer in the classrooms. They volunteer at after-school programs, in pre-schools, all across Terre Haute. The amount they are giving to our community by being there for those children is immeasurable,” said Fullhart.
The agency put together 44 baskets this year.
