TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Monday evening, some new officials are ready to serve Vigo County after a special ceremony.
Vigo County’s Republican party held a ceremony to honor our newly elected local officials with Indiana Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa presiding. Eleven county officials were sworn in at the Terre Haute Convention Center. There were three County Council members sworn in as well as two County Commissioners, County Judge, County Clerk, County Auditor, County Recorder, County Treasurer, County Coroner, and County School Board.
Vigo County Republican Chairman Randy Gentry said he’s proud of the elected officials.
“I think that there’s so much that can be done in this moment. It’s an opportunity to serve the community and I think every one of these people is really really excited about that opportunity.”
Gentry also announced that he has intentions of running for Vigo County Council the next election.
