Poland Volunteer Fire Department fights blaze in “blizzard like conditions”

BOWLING GREEN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A fire occurred in Bowling Green Sunday night causing firefighters to combat the blaze during the winter storm.

According to Chief Fearnow of Poland Fire and Rescue, A fire occurred Sunday night at a home located at 5207 North County Road 850 East. Chief Fearnow said that the home was occupied by three residents at the time but they were able to evacuate with no injuries.

Chief Fearnow said that multiple agencies assisted the Poland Volunteer Fire Department and that the crews worked in “blizzard-like conditions” to extinguish the fire. Crews were able to keep the fire confined to just one bedroom.
