WASHINGTON D.C. (WTWO/WAWV) — President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration is just two days away and Indiana’s newly elected governor will be in attendance.
Despite the temperatures moving the ceremony inside, Governor Mike Braun made the trip to Washington D.C.
Braun was sworn in as Indiana’s 52nd Governor on Monday.
He says the day will be big, not just for the country as a whole, but for Indiana specifically. As he plans to use the momentum to begin the plans for his new term.
“This is a big weekend”, Braun said. “Had my inaugural weekend last weekend and sworn in on Monday and got a lot done the first week and I’m so looking forward to what’s going to happen out here. As you know, I spent my last six years here. It needs a big facelift, a lot of things to change and I think there’s that sense that on Trump’s second term. A lot of things are afoot in terms of trying to change this place into being more responsive to Americans on a host of issues. So, I intend to do my part, as an enterprise in Governor back home, and be as helpful as I can from there to the agenda here.”
The swearing ceremony for President-elect Trump will take place at noon est. in Washington D.C. on Monday.
