WASHINGTON D.C. (WTWO/WAWV) U.S. Senator Jim Banks of Indiana spoke Wednesday on several topics.
He began his first term as a U.S. Senator earlier in January 2025 after four terms serving in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He says his goals in the Senate are to follow President Trump’s goals. Those include securing the border, being tough on China, and creating more jobs.
According to Banks, when it comes to voting for or against a proposed law, he thinks about what would be best for Hoosiers and the rest of the country.
Right now, he’s busy with confirmation hearings concerning Trump’s cabinet nominees.
“Much of my time over the last three weeks in the senate has been filled with meeting with many of President Trump’s nominees and then the confirmation hearings like Pete Hegseth who we confirmed to be the Secretary of Defense. This morning, I met with another nominee for the Pentagon. I serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee,” said U.S. Senator Jim Banks (R) Indiana.
