CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Hundreds of people lined up at the Vermillion County Health Department for a free food giveaway.
Catholic Charities and the health department partner together to host these giveaways once a month. It was first come, first served and consisted of fruits, veggies, canned goods, breads, and sweets.
Administrator with the health department Wendy Farley, said they received funds from the Health First Indiana Investment to provide the giveaways.
“last month was our first giveaway,” said Farley “We serviced 69 families and 219 people total. It was just, every one of our staff just felt an overwhelming feeling of we gave back into our community.”
