TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two businesses recently worked together to make a difference for two local animal shelters.
Saturn Petcare partnered with Baesler’s Market to sell its in-house brand of pet food called RIIO Values. The proceeds from those sales benefitted the Terre Haute Humane Society and the Humane Society of Sullivan County.
Each shelter received a check on Tuesday for $1,775.
“We have a great opportunity here where we can support the shelters with all of their needs that they have,” said Ashley Natalie, Office Manager at Saturn Petcare Inc. “The first pallet that we sold of this product went to Baesler’s and it was just a great opportunity for us to partner with the shelters.”
Officials from both shelters said the donations will go a long way in helping them care for animals.
“This is going to go towards not only feeding all of our shelter animals but also any health care, and just the needs that our shelter animals need before we can get them adopted,” said Heidi Mitchell, Executive Director of the Terre Haute Humane Society.
“It can feed the animals in our care. It can help with the medical, offset any price that we have or any cost that we have in the shelter setting,” said Tina Baker, Director of Operations at the Humane Society of Sullivan County.
