INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) has been appointed to serve as the co-chair of the Indiana General Assembly’s defense caucus. The caucus was created to identify and propose opportunities to support Indiana’s defense sector.
Goode said the Wabash Valley, with the 181st Intelligence Wing and multiple universities, serves as an example of how the defense industry can add to a region’s economic stability.
“As home of the 181st Intelligence Wing at Terre Haute Air National Guard Base, the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division – the nation’s third largest naval base – and other military installations across the state, Indiana is well positioned to support our nation’s defense industry,” Goode said in a press release.
Sen. Goode was appointed to this position by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville). Senate President Bray said Goode has worked hard during his time at the Senate to attract investments to the state of Indiana and specifically the Wabash Valley.
“That’s why I asked him to chair the defense caucus – because I know he will use his knowledge of economic development with our defense partners across Indiana,” said Bray.
