TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The CANDLES Holocaust Museum will be making a strip to Europe this summer and you invited. The trip will be from June 21 through July 3, with stops in Amsterdam, Berlin and Krakow.
They will visit several historical sites, including Auschwitz and the home of Anne Frank.
Local Holocaust survivor and museum founder Eva Kor started these trips many years ago, but this is the first time the trip will include stops in Amsterdam and Berlin.
Museum Executive Director Troy Fears said reading about these historical sites is one thing, but actually visiting them is really impactful.
“One of the main things that we preach on these trips is you need to be a witness. Now that you’ve seen it, you’ve been here, never let this happen again anywhere in the world. And, that’s one of the impacts and most important things that we stress on these trips,” said Fears.
The complete travel package is $5,000. You can sign up on the museums website and the deadline is March 7.
