CLARK COUNTY, (WTWO/WAWV) — An investigation is ongoing after police found multiple trees had been cut down from a property in Clark County and drug to a neighboring house.
According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR), conservation police responded to a home on U.S. 40 near Dennison, Thursday afternoon, after a resident reported a possible timber theft from their property.
At the property, police found multiple trees had been cut down without the property owner’s permission, along with drag marks that led to a neighboring property, according to the Illinois DNR.

Police then searched the neighboring property around 4 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant. There, police say they found and removed the stolen logs.
Police are now working with the district forester to determine the value of the timber that was stolen.
No arrest was made, and an investigation is still ongoing.
