FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Spring is here, and many Hoosiers are looking for opportunities to save money by making road trips a little closer to home.

Knox County

Just under a 40-mile drive from Farmersburg will land you at the Vincennes State Historic Site. There guests can learn more about Indiana’s time as a territory as they explore the state’s oldest town and tour original structures like the Territory Capitol building, the Jefferson Academy and Old French House.
Marion County

Right around 75 miles from Farmersburg, IN spring breakers will find the Indiana State Museum located in downtown Indianapolis. There families can explore three floors of immersive exhibits and one-of-a-kind experiences. The museum offers seasonal experiences including the wildly popular Cardboard Storyland which provides visitors with everyday materials to build whatever they can dream up.
Posey County

From Farmersburg, IN site see-ers can travel just over 82 miles to the New Harmony State Historic Site in New Harmony, IN. There Visitors will hear the stories of the early utopian communities that once called the area home. Guests can stroll through the buildings and gardens they left behind.
Vanderburgh County

Within a 90-mile drive from Farmersburg, road-trippers will find the Angel Mounds State Historic Site. Located in Evansville visitors can discover the mounds’ cosmological connection and hear from modern native descendants about the sacred site’s special meaning in today’s world.
