VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) โ The school year is not quite over, but enrollment for next year is already beginning.
Enrollment for Vigo County Schools will officially open on April 1st, on a first come first serve basis.
This year, Vigo County will be offering new programs for pre-school students.
Vigo Countyโs Director of Elementary Education, Teresa Stuckey, said there will be six new pre-school classes. Half will be for three-year-olds, and half will be for four-year-olds.
This year, two new locations will be offering classes as well.
โOne of the locations is just adding a three-year-old program, then we have two brand new spotsโ, Stuckey said. โWe are offering a three and a four-year-old class at Fayette Elementary and we are also offering two four-year-old classes and a three-year-old class at Sarah Scott Middle School.โ
Stuckey said the curriculum for the programs will not differ from what they are currently teaching, just with the two added locations, as Vigo County Pre-schools are a level three out of four on the Paths to Quality Standards.
โPre-school programs that we offer are Paths to Quality Level 3โ, Stuckey said. โWe know that the early years of a childโs life are very critical in their learning, and we want to offer those programs that will give them the best chance for success and learning along their peers at the same level.โ
