TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)โ A recently formed support group is providing a sense of community for local people who have visual impairment.
The group meets once a month, and they discuss different topics during each meeting. On Wednesday, they learned about assistive technology. This was the second time the group met.
โIโm excited to learn about new devices for blind and low vision people.โ said Luna York, an attendee of the group.
โPeople have no idea what itโs like, what we deal with on a day-to-day basis,โ said Doug Hanna, another attendee. โThe only people who would understand this is somebody else who is experiencing the same type of stresses and anxiety. This is a way for us to get together and have some sense of community.โ
The group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 12:30 at the Vigo County Public Libraryโs main branch.
