TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Monday evening, the Vigo County School Corporation approved funding for the Project Lead the Way Launch Program grant.
The grant is in the amount of $20,000 and the funds will be distributed between the 2025 to 2026 and 2026 to 2027 school years. The purpose of this grant is to provide students with engaging stem learning experiences that prepare them for emerging careers and educational opportunities.
This funding will also support the training and participation fees, along with the investment in stem modules.
“Anytime you can have students learn in a hands on environment it defiantly helps them be able to make connections to the curriculum. And so it’s not just about building things, it’s about taking those things and enhancing that learning knowledge,” Deputy Superintendent John Newport said.
This will be for Fayette Elementary School with the possibility of expanding to other schools later on.
