TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) โ Three Terre Haute homes were damaged in an early morning fire on Monday.
According to Terre Haute Fire Department Captain Nick Arnold, crews were dispatched to the 1400 block of Plum Street at 7:25 a.m. Monday for reports of a residential structure fire.




Upon arrival to the 1400 block, an unoccupied residence at 1422 Plum St. was on fire with heavy smoke showing. The house was a total loss according to Arnold.
Due to the fire at 1422 Plum St., residences nearby at 1420 and 1424 Plum St. were evacuated.
The fire caused minor damage to a garage at 1420 Plum St., but the homeowners were able to return once the fire at 1422 Plum St. was under control.
However, the original fire caused heavy damage to the rear of the home at 1424 Plum St., causing the residents of the home to not be able to return to the home.




Captain Arnold said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. WTWO/WAWV will update you as soon as more information becomes available.
