VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) โ Update: Deputy Brian Sum with the Vermillion County Sheriffโs Office said six people were injured in the crash. Two of those individuals were airlifted to a hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Both north and southbound lanes of State Road 63 were shut down for the helicopters to land.
No citations have been issued at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
Original: An investigation is underway after a two-vehicle accident Saturday night in Vermillion County that injured multiple people.
According to Deputy Brian Sum with the Vermillion County Sheriffโs Office, the accident happened around 9:00 p.m. Saturday on State Road 63 and County Road 200 E.
Officers said one of the vehicles was driving South on SR 63 when it struck another vehicle that was heading West on 200 E. Multiple occupants from both vehicles were injured in the collision. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
In a statement to WTWO, Sum said the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
