FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Roads in both Carlisle and Terre Haute have construction planned that could affect drivers’ commutes.
According to the Construction Inspector for the City of Terre Haute, a portion of 7th Street will be closed for four days starting on Friday. The closure will occur on 7th Street from Spang Street to the train tracks going south. This is being done so that workers with Lankford Excavating can work on an emergency water valve repair.
Also, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Transportation, there will be alternating lane closures on State Road 58 near Carlisle, Indiana. These closures are planned to begin on or around June 4. Crews will be conducting these closures between South County Road 100 West and U.S. Highway 41. Crews will be doing the lane closures to allow for bridge maintenance operations, including painting. Work is expected to take one month to complete, and one lane of traffic will always remain open and will be controlled through the use of a temporary traffic signal.
