TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Cole Nobbe and Julie Henricks went live in different sections of Terre Haute to get a look at the damage from Wednesday evening’s storm.
Henricks spoke with Rick Burger from Duke Energy to talk about the outages across the Wabash Valley. Burger said that at the height, 9,000 people were without power. They said crews were still assessing the damage. He said crews are out working and that more are on the way. they did warn of lines down and told the public to stay back from them.
Henricks also went live from the northern Terre Haute area on Hollywood Avenue. Henricks interviewed Terre Haute native Brad Cress about the trees that caused damage to his home. Cress said he was at work on the other end of town when he received a phone call from a neighbor. Cress said when he returned home, he found a tree down through the center of his home, and stated that the interior is gone. Thankfully, Cress was in good spirits, knowing that he, his wife, and his dog were ok.
Nobbe was in the northern Vigo County that got hit hard, reporting multiple trees down, some of which have landed on homes. Other trees were completely uprooted, and others fell on power lines.
