SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Sullivan County Night Out event was held Wednesday night at Sullivan City Park, bringing together families, friends, and first responders for an evening of fun and community spirit.
Local residents gathered to enjoy food, games, and entertainment while connecting with members of EMS, the fire department, police, and the sheriff’s department. The event aimed to strengthen relationships between the community and local emergency services in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Children had the chance to explore emergency vehicles and meet first responders.
Paramedic with Sullivan County EMS, Brittney Grindstaff, says it’s a great way to get together as a community.
“Most of the time when the community interacts with us it’s usually not a good day for them. So, this is just a fun, positive way to interact with law enforcement, police, ambulance, and fire departments.”
She also said Sullivan County has not had a Night Out event since 2019. They hope to bring it back next year as well.
