TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local Terre Haute church is celebrating a big milestone this year. And to celebrate, all Sunday, September 21st services were held at The Mill.
Maryland Community Church is celebrating 100 years of serving the local community. The church originally began as a one room schoolhouse on south end of Terre Haute back in 1925.
Fast forward a century, today the church hosts services on multiple campuses, serving thousands of people.
“I never really imagined anything like this,” said Scott Longyear, Senior Pastor at Maryland Community Church. “I started at Maryland’s almost 30 years ago. The scripture says that He can do more anything more than we can ever hope, ask, or imagine. We’re seeing more and more people come to ask questions about Jesus and find a great life, that maybe they thought wasn’t even possible.”
