CORY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Cory Apple Festival is happening this Sept. 26th-28th and they started out Friday morning with a breakfast at the firehouse.
It was ten dollars for adults and eight dollars for kids. People could get eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and pancakes if they wanted. There were all kinds of syrups people could use and drinks like coffee and orange juice.
All the money raised during this goes back towards the fire department and community building in Cory. President of the Cory/Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Community Center, Shane Wiram, mentioned how the firehouse is always thankful for the support they get during this event.
“It’s overwhelming, this is a small community, but we all have great support from all the people in the community and surrounding communities,” Wiram said. “Everybody comes in from Terre Haute, Brazil, and Jasonville, and just supports the Apple Festival every year and makes it a huge success.”
They will have another fireman’s breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, that will last until 10:00 a.m. that morning. To learn more about the Cory Apple Festival, the events going on each day, and anything with the Cory Apple Festival, just visit their Facebook page.
