CRAWFORD, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office has fired a nearly two-year veteran deputy for alleged on-duty ‘inappropriate conduct’.
Deputy Ian Kasemeyer has been terminated following an open internal investigation into conduct in a social media video that violated the department’s policies.
As we previously reported, Kasemeyer was placed on administrative leave after the deputy’s on-duty actions prompted a full investigation. The department began investigating on October 5th, after allegations of inappropriate conduct came to light.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is committed to upholding the highest
standards of professional conduct for all personnel, both on and off duty. The
actions of this individual do not reflect the values of our office or the expectations
of our community. We have taken swift and appropriate action to address this
matter.
The release went on to state that “the sheriff’s office is committed to upholding the public’s trust and maintaining accountability within its ranks.”
