TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The month of October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
Lives were celebrated and were honored at Deming Park Sunday in Terre Haute, with the 38th Annual Walk to Remember. A walk, organized, by Union hospital.
The community gathered at the local park to honor and remember the small life they loved dearly. Participants signed a banner with their loved one’s names, and the banner will be hung at the hospital for the rest of month.
Plus, a memorial, where each family read aloud their baby’s name to honor each and every one.
“It’s important for the families to know that they’re not alone. This is a very isolating thing that they have to go through and so to be able to look around and see that they’re not the only family that has had to endure the loss of their baby is very important for them,” said Kathryn Robinson, Coordinator at Union Hospital for the Resolve Through Sharing.
If you have experienced a loss, Robinson said they are always here for you and ready to support you with anything you need. To learn more about resources with union health, visit Bereavement Support – Union Health, Terre Haute, IN or call Robinson at 812-238-4978.
