TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— With Halloween right around the corner, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department have started their annual Halloween events.
To kick off these events, they hosted their Trunk or Treat event at Deming Park Thursday evening.
Families came dressed in costumes and visited each trunk to receive candy. The next event will be their Un-Haunted Halloween Happenings, which is also at the park. This scare-free event is for children and will have pumpkin painting, hayrides, and more. It’s happening this October 17 and 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.
“It’s great to put on an event for the community where people can come in and enjoy things. Make memories with their families and have a good time,” Director of Recreation Jennifer Johnson said.
The Parks Department will also be hosting a spookier event at Deming. Haunted Happenings will be on October 24 and 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be hay rides, food vendors, and scare actors.
