PARKE CO., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Parke County deputy Chris McCann returned to work Wednesday after an over three month medical leave.

We first talked with Deputy McCann in July after he suffered from a medical emergency impacting his heart. McCann told use he was hospitalized and put on a ventilator tube, he was also paralyzed for several days.

A miraculous recovery and outpour of support from his community, sent McCann home shortly after. McCann told us he was just happy to be alive.

In September, McCann was awarded with WTWO’s Community Impact Award. McCann received the family award.
The Parke County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook Wednesday that Deputy McCann had his first day back to work since July 16. Click here to see the post.
