WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With the new year starting, people are making their New Year’s resolutions.
According to Janet Royer, event coordinator for the YMCA, physical fitness is one of the most common resolutions.
The YMCA is starting a couple of programs in Jan. to help people start their fitness journey.
Royer said it is important to incorporate a healthier routine into your life style.
While the Y’s new programs will be in person, Royer said COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. Things like sanitizing equipment and wearing masks while walking around are implemented for the safety of members and people using the building.
Drew Hogue, the director of the Sullivan County Hospital Fitness Center, said they also have different programs and challenges to keep people motivated. They are taking similar COVID-19 precautions as the hospital.
“Everything such as screenings when you come in, making sure masks are being worn through the facility until you get to your equipment,” Hogue said.
