INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)- Indiana has a plan to rollout Pfizer’s pediatric COVID-19 vaccine if it’s approved by the CDC.
State health leaders spoke Wednesday at the statehouse. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver says she expects the first doses to arrive in Indiana on Monday and Tuesday.
Indiana already has more than 1,300 sites set aside to administer the vaccine to children between the ages of 5 and 11 — and that’s growing every day.
“We’re excited, our kiddos have been affected by COVID with illnesses, missing school, missing sports and activities and so I know there are lots of parents that are ready to get their kids signed up,” said Dr. Lindsay Weaver.
The sites include health departments, pharmacies, hospitals and more. Any school, church or other organization who wants to host a vaccine clinic can contact the state and pitch in.
