According to a release from THPD Chief Shawn Keen, THFD medics responded to a call of an unconscious man on the porch of a residence at 233 S. 9th St.
The man was taken to Union Hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after his arrival. Officials say he had injuries including an apparent stab wound in his back.
At approximately 5:49 a.m. Thursday, officials arrested Justin C. Gasaway, 32, on a preliminary charge of murder. Gasaway is a resident of the home where the deceased male was found.
At this time, the victim’s name is being withheld while he is identified and family members are notified.
Gasaway is being held at the Vigo Co. Jail without bond.
