TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It’s been a big week for basketball fans in the Valley. The 23rd annual First Financial Wabash Valley Classic Basketball Tournament is underway.
Tournament Director Ticia Wright said so far it has been a big turnout and that will financially benefit all of the school’s competing.
Sixteen high school teams from all over the Wabash Valley will compete in a series of 28 games. The tournament is taking place at Terre Haute North High School. Most of the money earned is given to those 16 teams for their athletic programs.
“These kids just really leave it all on the floor. Appreciate them, appreciate their fans. And they really deserve this support of everybody that can come out and cheer for them,” Wright said.
The First Financial Wabash Valley Classic will conclude with the championship game on Thursday, Dec. 29.
