VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– We are a week away from the Vigo County Fair.
Sunday at the fairgrounds there were pageants to declare the county’s queen and princess.
Eight girls participated in both the princess and queen contest. This event came after weeks of preparations from those involved.
In the end, Grace Rodgers is the 2023 Vigo County fair princess and Sadie Herring is the 2023 county fair queen. She spoke afterward about how thankful she is to receive support from her community.
“Take your resources and use them. There are so many great people in this community to are willing to help,” Herring said. “It’s just finding those people and really being able to connect with them.”
Herring also won a $500 scholarship and will represent Vigo County at the state fair. There were also multiple other awards and scholarships distributed to other select participants in the pageant.
Congratulations to both of the winners and all participants that received awards.
