VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County 911 and admin phone lines have had reoccurring issues causing the lines to be down several times within a couple of days.
According to the most recent press release sent Thursday at 3:22 p.m. from Vigo County 911 regarding the phone lines, the phones are down and they are “unable to receive calls in or out.”
All calls are being routed to surrounding counties, so all emergencies will continue to be handled. The release continues and asks residents to bear with the county as they work through the issue.
On July 5, around 8:37 p.m., a release was sent out stating that the phone lines for 911 were down, and another email sent on Thursday, July 6 at 12:21 a.m. said the issue had been fixed. Later in the day on Thursday, another release was sent saying both the central dispatch 911 and non-emergent phone lines were down, but yet another release was sent at 1:04 p.m. saying that the phone lines were up and running.

- Thursday, July 6 @ 4:41 p.m. | 911 and administration phone lines are up and running (911 text may be down for a couple hours at least)
