SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Residents in Sullivan came out in large numbers Saturday afternoon for the Corn Festival Parade.
There over 100 floats and vehicles that showed off everything that the community brings to the table. Many groups use this parade to spread awareness for what they have to offer.
This is no different for the Recovery Cafe. Kryslen Kendall is the manager for the Recovery Cafe, and she wants to let the community know their message.
“To end the stigma and that we do recover. I’m not just my addiction anymore. I’ve changed and grew and overcame that and that the stigma is no longer affecting me.”
She also wanted to let everyone know that they are there for anyone that needs help in any capacity.
“We want to tell everyone that we are here for them, not just for recovery, but for anything they might need mentally or physically.”
The Corn Festival concludes on Saturday evening with a Prince tribute concert.
